I recently spent some time in Maine. My wife’s youngest nephew was getting married in Bar Harbor, Maine. We took our time driving up from New Jersey. I got to spend some time in Lewiston, Maine photographing some of their old Mills. I was glad to see a number of them had new life with new industries moving into the buildings and some converted to new uses.

The UP Big Boy 4014 made a 250th Celebration run to be in Philadelphia for July 4, our nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was in Steamtown for a couple of weeks after running some wild excursions between Jim Thorpe and Scranton. I didn’t get the chance to see those excursions, they were well attended. I really didn’t want to be in that mass of humanity and craziness.
When UP 4014 first arrived in Steamtown, they parked the locomotive staggered from her sister unit UP 4012. I guess they want to have a view of both sides of the 4014. I didn’t like how they looked so I passed on going up to see it. This past weekend they moved the 4012 up to be side by side with her sister. That I wanted to see.
It turned out to be a beautiful day when I was able to get up there. I was able to get out with both the KB Canham cameras, the 5×7 and the 4×10. It will be a little while before I have those images ready but I thought I’d share a couple of digital images from my day.
This image from NY State of Carling D. is from 2021. I’m getting ready to head back into this location in a couple of weeks. Just looking at some of the images from previous years work this morning.
I’ve added The Nude Outdoors – Panoramic page to the site. Included on the page is an image of Lana H. from 2015. Below is a behind the scenes image of the set up at this location.
