I have received an invitation to exhibit a piece at Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum. The museum is turning 40 and the are putting together a group show of artists that have exhibited there in the past. Here is how they worded it:
“The committee is inviting a select group of artists who have had solo exhibits, or have participated in two or three person exhibits at the Trenton City Museum since its inception in 1978.”
The show will be from September 15th through November 11th.
I participated in Long Shot 2018, the annual fundraiser for Photographic Center Northwest. I worked up in New York with my friend Dan McCormack and the model Grace F.
In spit of the quick turn-around needed for the show, I worked most of the day with the 5×7. I also did do some very nice cell phone panoramic images during the day. I’ll add those to the cell phone panoramic page later.
I’ve been working with panoramic images since I bought my first 8×20 inch camera in 1992. The 8×20 and 4×10 work is very similar to my 8×10 work, just a different aspect ratio.
I started using my cell phone to create panoramic images a couple of years ago. I like that they have a different look then my 8×20 images. By moving the camera during the exposure it creates a curved background.
In this work, I’ve kept the model centered to keep from wildly distorting her, but the moving camera distorts the world around the model.

While I did shoot with the 8×10 that day, due to a quick turn-around I sent in this digital image for the show. I did do some very nice cell phone panoramic images during the day. There will be more about those later.
