Here is an image of Lana H. from 2015. Working with the 8×20 is both a great joy and a huge frustration. I have said before when everything goes right the negatives and prints are a joy to see. But as the negative size increases so do the number of things that can cause a failure in the photograph.
I’m about to head out this weekend for a shoot, and I am looking forward to working with the 8×20 again this weekend.
After a couple of square images, I thought I post something from a larger small camera. I’ve worked with the 8×10 since 1990, I acquired a KB Canham 5×7 wood field in 2017. I really enjoy how mobile the camera is compared to the 8×10.

I have been working with Hasselblad medium-format cameras in addition to my beloved large format cameras, since 1992. I’ve only exhibited a few of the images in public.
When I first started using the camera, I would to begin to explore my subjects, to move around more freely and get an idea what I wanted to shoot with the bigger negatives.
In recent years, I have been working more with the Hasselblad cameras. I’ve found the square image a nice change of pace to the standard sheet film formats.
I was invited to exhibit in the upcoming show Pushing 40, at The Trenton City Museum. The artists participating in the show have all been selected in the past for a one-person show at the museum.The show is from September 15th through November 11th.
This morning, while pulling together some images for a submission, I came across this image again. I remember a Platinum print of this image hung in the kitchen of our old house. There is a couple of stories there, but not for the site. Thought I’d share the image again this morning.
I need to get my panoramic images back on the site.
I participated in Long Shot 2018, the annual fundraiser for Photographic Center Northwest. I worked up in New York with my friend Dan McCormack and the model Grace F.
In spit of the quick turn-around needed for the show, I worked most of the day with the 5×7. I also did do some very nice cell phone panoramic images during the day. I’ll add those to the cell phone panoramic page later.
